Beth Huerta Senior Agent, Candace Gelman & Associates & AI Artist

For over 20 years, Beth Huerta has been immersed in the world of commercial and fine art photography. During her tenure in the field, she has held the roles of everything from photographer’s assistant to artists’ agent. In her current position as Editor & Senior Agent at the award-winning agency Candace Gelman & Associates, Beth has had the good fortune to work with renowned artists such as Sandro and Art Streiber. In February of 2023, Beth began investigating Midjourney in an effort to “know the enemy.” Since then, as an artist using AI to generate images, Beth has sold prints and been selected to participate in a Western Massachusetts artisan fair. Embracing AI as a creative tool has led to some controversy as two of Beth’s primary obligations as an agent is to protect and advocate on behalf of the artists on CG&A’s roster.

Prior to CG&A, Beth worked as a consultant/assistant for a bevy of internationally acclaimed photographers including Howard Schatz and Theo Westenberger.

Beth is an Adjunct Instructor at Drexel University (where a course that she authored is now a part of the BS Photography degree core curriculum), has taught at The University of the Arts, and has been a guest instructor at Columbia College. She is also a Mentor for NYC Salt (a program that
